Major Product Updates: Reduced Brand Audit Costs, More Configuration Options and Audit Verification

After six months of experience in issuing brand audits, we updated our system to offer significantly more flexibility in report configuration and pricing, alongside many additional features.

Why was it necessary and what benefits does it mean to our customers? Read more to find out.

In late 2020, we created Brand Auditor to become an industry-standard alternative to the useless brand auditing solutions and practices available at that time.

Our approach was simple: enable market research-based brand analysis for small and medium-sized businesses, at half the price of what marketing and branding consultants offer for mostly subjective opinion based essays. The information value of our customer perception-based audits was excellent: useful, accurate, reliable, and cost-efficient.

We did not settle with the results but paid close attention on what else our customers wanted. They were asking for more flexibility to pay only for insights they want to know, based on the responses of people who are relevant to them.

To make this happen, we have decided to overhaul our systems, rebuilt our databases, streamlined our data collection procedures and created a front-end that makes it super easy for anyone to configure an audit. Let’s see what these updates bring to our customers.

User-configurable brand audits with real time price and delivery time calcualtion

From June 2021, prices are calculated real time based on the user-selected preferences and estimated market research costs.

With most audit types, customers can select the scope of research. Each selection will add a new page to the report. To make the market research and data collection more relevant, clients can specify their line of business during the audit configuration process. This selection is important to make sure that the company and brand related surveys will be distributed to in-market audiences.

To specify target audience more precisely, we added a textbox where clients can detail their ideal customers. We use this information to manually set your audience targeting as precise as possible.

A brand new feature in the auditing process is the option to define your market research size – the target number of respondents. Working with larger number of responses will make your sample more representative – and your final brand audit more accurate. If cost is a concern, you can downsize your market research with the “target responses” slider. In case of most audits, the minimum research size is 2,000 responses.

Similarly to our legacy audit system, customers can choose the target region for their brand audit research.

Prices are mostly impacted by the selected number of audit scopes and your market research size. Your line of business and region also have minor effect on the price. All prices are final and include tax.

Another new feature is the report delivery date notice. Based on your audit configuration, the system shows the exact timeframe. If your report is urgent, downsize your market research size to speed up the procedure.

Audit authentication by serial number and BA code

We have added an audit authentication tool to our website, where everyone can confirm the validity of an audit issues by Brand Auditor. Why is it necessary?

Several angel investors and investment companies require a Business Concept Audit from their startup funding and business loan applicants. The audit results and insights help them to understand how a startup or any business seeking funding will be welcomed by their target customers.

As Brand Auditor is a trusted auditing partner, they require applicants to present an audit from us.

To avoid the unwanted cost of purchasing an audit, some startup companies decided to present counterfeit audits to deceive their potential investors. To prevent this in the future, we introduced our simple authentication system.

Starting from June 2021, each audit comes with a unique serial number and a BA code.

The serial number can be found on the report document, but the BA code is only shared with the person who ordered the audit. Our website offers an authentication tool where both numbers need to be entered.

This way, our angel investor partners confirm the validity of any audit by inputing the serial number and BA code provided by the audit owner.

Reduced brand audit cost with smarter market research framework

Providing additional customization options required us to rework our market research management system. In a nutshell, our core system is connected to various survey management tools, as well a to market research companies including Nielsen and Gartner.

More precise targeting specifiactions enable more focused data collection which in most cases reduces cost per valid answers. With increased precisity, survey engagement rates improve, which results in better quality answers and less incomplete surveys.

As a result of these major updates, we can provide better quality answers at reduced costs. Arguably, this is the most important update.
