Emerton Sco+, a British brand who’s products are proudly inspired by stoic philosophy, has recently promised to support Helen Keller Intl. and their Vitamin A program to provide essential supplements to children across Africa.
Vitamin A deficiency is a huge problem in Africa, with over 200,000 children’s deaths is attributed to vitamin A deficiency each year. Helen Keller International’s program saves lives by providing vitamin A supplements to children under 5 years old. The program is on a mission to ensure essential supplements are delivered to key regions to help children receive the right nutrition and given the opportunity to build a healthy immune system.
Emerton Sco+ is supporting the life-saving work of Helen Keller Intl. by contributing enough to save 4 children—one for each virtue of stoic philosophy: wisdom, justice, courage, and moderation. “We wanted to support Helen Keller International because they make such a huge impact for every dollar donated. And their efforts in delivering essential Vitamin A supplements is one of the most positively impactful programs on the planet. I just wanted to make sure we contributed to the incredible change they are making and did our small part in making the world a better place,” said the founder of Emerton Sco+, Sco+ Lancaster.
Emerton Sco+ is planning to launch their first line of limited edition jewellery via Kickstarter, each design inspired by powerful quotes from Stoic Philosophy. Each of their creations has a hidden meaning and story, creatively designed to symbolise the values and lessons taught by Stoicism
“Everything we do at Emerton Sco+ is focused around celebrating virtue and excellence,” shared Sco+. “We don’t want people to aspire to be perfect. We just want to celebrate those who are trying to live life fully and who are trying to be the best version of themselves.”
The brand is clearly looking to become a brand of substance and purpose. But being so young, at this point all we can do is watch and wait to see if the brand continues to strive for positive change.
