Bank of Italy Sees 2022 Inflation at 2.8% on Energy Prices

(Bloomberg) — The Bank of Italy predicts inflation rate will accelerate to 2.8% in 2022, before dropping below the European Central Bank’s 2% goal in the following two years. The jump in energy prices that’s causing the current spike is set to wane around the end of next year, the institution said in its latest economic forecasts published Friday. Italy’s prediction for 2022 is less severe than those for the euro area, Germany or Spain, which are forecast to come in at 3.2%, 3.6% and 3.7%, respectively.Β  Read More
